CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON

On December XX, SSCSC held its annual "Awards Luncheon" at the Mission Inn in Riverside. Committee Chairman, Denis Pollak, addressed the attendees with a update on the committee.

The Workshop Sub-Committee Chairman were introduced and each gave an update on their committee.

Rick Jackson, Inland Empire Workshop Committee Chairman announced a workshop in the the City of Riverside for March 11, 2009

Bev Stumman, Orange County Workshop Committee Chairman, stated that the August 2009 workshop will be held in Newport Beach.

In Rick Lewis' absence, Jim Aanderud gave an update on the San Diego Workshop Committee stating that plans were under way to secure a facility with National City for a workshop in November of 2009.

After dining on a first class lunch, Denis handed out the committee awards. The City of Riverside was presented a "Shinning Star" for hosting a June 13, 2007. Accepting the award were Rick Jackson, Ponce Navarro, Richard Polante and Craig Justice.

Accepting a "Shining Star" award for Haaker Equipment was Bill Haaker. This award was presented for hosting a workshop on November 14, 2007.

A "Shinning Star" for the most recent workshop was presented to the City of Carlsbad. This award was accepted by James Gusman. The workshop was held on November 5, 2008.

The committee's newest member, Joe Flores, was presented with a "Shinning Star" for his participation with the committee during 2008.

The 2009 Christmas Luncheon will be a dinner event where new officers will be installed.
